I'll be teaching a workshop at West Dean College looking at classical painting techniques - grinding pigments, creating surfaces to work on, underpainting, glazing etc.

Explore the traditional oil painting techniques developed and used by the great master such as Titian, Rubens and Rembrandt applied to the figure. With the arrival of modernism these techniques fell out of common practice, and here we will seek to relearn and apply some of these ideas and methods.
